61 Year-Old Mt. Dora Woman Killed in July 15, Lecanto Traffic Crash
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, July 15, on Souh Lecanto Highway (CR 491) in Lecanto, resulted in fatal injuries to a 61 year-old Mount Dora woman, the driver of Vehicle 2, a sedan, and in critical injuries to a 40 year-old Hernando, Florida man, the driver of Vehicle 1, also a sedan.
The crash occurred at 4:54 pm, on CR 491, south of West Glen Pines Court.
The press release stated that Vehicle 1 was traveling south on CR 491, and Vehicle 2 was traveling north (in the opposite direction) on CR 491, both traveling south of West Glen Pines Court, when Vehicle 1 traveled into the northbound lane and collided with Vehicle 2. Driver 2 suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The crash investogator was Trooper Ortiz, and the homicide investigator was Corporal Covert.
