Citrus County, Florida - After serving her community for nearly 17 years, Citrus County Sheriff's Office Deputy Andra Crisafi-Schanel is "officially hanging up her duty belt." or retiring, according to a press release.
Deputy Crisafi-Schanel began her public service career with the agency on November 1, 2004, as a deputy sheriff. She received training in sex crime investigations and contraband interdiction.
In 2015, Deputy Crisafi-Schanel was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for her keen observation skills and attention to detail in discovering a grand theft and recovering the stolen property - before the crime was reported or the victim was even aware that the crime had been committed! A year later in 2016, she was presented with the agency's Life-Saving Award due to her heroic efforts in rendering aid and utilizing revival tactics to save an person who was suffering from cardiac arrest. Deputy Crisafi-Schanel also assisted her agency in Operation Coin Toss, a successful yearlong campaign that targeted drug dealers in Citrus County, and received a Certificate of Commendation for her integral role in that campaign.
