Levy County, Florida - At 2:27 pm on Saturday, February 20, the Levy County E911 Center received a call that there had been a shooting at the Willy Mart/Marathon gas station located at 20511 U.S. Alternate Hwy. 27, at the intersection of County Road 318, in Williston, Florida.
Levy Couty Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the location to find Khajon “K.J.” Lamont Spikes, age 20, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Mr. Spikes did not survive his injury and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Detectives quickly identified that the suspect as Fredrick “Freddie G.” Donnell Williams, Jr., 25, who was involved in an argument with Mr. Spikes, just prior to the shooting. According to LCSO Lt. Scott Tummond, Williams fired two rounds from a handgun, one of which struck Mr. Spikes in his chest, then fled the scene in a maroon Volkswagen passenger car, heading east on County Road 318 toward Marion County. Detectives identified the driver of the car as Sydney Carl Frasier Jr., 28. and immediately began searching for the two men.
Several hours later, Mr. Frasier, accompanied by his father Sidney Frasier, Sr., 61, turned himself in to LCSO detectives at the Williston Police Department. He was charged with being an accessory after the fact to a first degree felony (homicide). His bond was set at $250,000.
The younger Frasier told investigators that he drove Williams to Ocala via Interstate 75, that he exited Interstate 75 via exit 329, and met with Williams' girlfriend at the Motel 6 parking lot, that Williams exited his vehicle, and he made the trip back to Williston alone. Williams is still at large and presumed armed and dangerous.
On Sunday, February 21, deputies responded to disturbance in Williston. According to Lt. Tummond, the elder Frasier, Sidney Frasier, Sr., had gotten into an argument with a witness to the previous day's shooting and threatened the witness with bodily harm for participating with law enforcement in the investigation. Deputies located Frasier Sr. and arrested him for tampering with a witness. Frasier Sr. was booked in to the Levy County Detention Facility. His bond has not been set at the time of the press release.
