UPDATED: Deputy-involved shooting in Homosassa, Fri. morning, Jan. 22
Citrus County, Florida - As per a press release by Sgt. Lee Carey, with the Special Operations division of the Citrus County Sheriff's OFfice, at 10:50 am, Friday morning, January 22, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office was on the scene of a deputy-involved shooting in Homosassa. All agency personnel are safe, and the scene is contained. There will be a strong law enforcement presence in the area of West Cardinal Blvd. and South Finale Point, and the agency is asking the public to avoid the area. This is an ongoing investigation, and the public will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE
A deputy withe the CCSO fatally shot a man who was said to be armed with a knife, in the area of W. Cardinal Blvd. and S. Gross Ave. in Homosassa, on Friday morning, Jan. 22. No further information was released, at that time.
