House fire, E. Birch Cir. in Inverness, extinguished with no reported injuries

Inverness, Florida - At 11:43 pm on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched E. Beech Cir. in Inverness, with the report of a structure fire.
The Engine 5 crew from Hernando Fire Station arrived first on scene, at 11:53 pm, to find an approximately 1,000 square foot single story residence, with smoke comiing from the eves and fire on the side of the house.
Firefighters went inside to extinguish the fire from the inside. The Engine 8 crew of Highlands Fire Station searched the home for occupants, but no one was inside the home.
The power company responded to remove the meter from the residence. The fire was called under control at 12:09 am, and crews cleared the scene at 2:57 am. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate. No injuries were reported.
Others whho assisted with the fire included Battalion Chief 1, the Engine 23 crew from Kensington Fire Station, the Tanker 7 crew from Connell Heights Fire Station, and a Safety Captain.
