UF/IFAS Citrus County Extension Services wins big at virtual conference
The University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), Citrus County Extension Services (CCES) was a big winner at the virtual 2020 Extension Professional Associations of Florida (EPAF) Conference on Sept. 2, 2020.
The Housing Education Program, led by Sarah Ellis, Extension Agent 1, received six awards, including the Florida Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, Program of Excellence Award; and the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, First Place Extension Housing Outreach Team Award.
Citrus County 4H received two Communicator Awards for an article, "Right with Roborts," published in the Citrus County Chronicle newspaper, and an educational piece, "Planting, Cultivating and Exhibiting at the Fair," by 4H Director Marnie Ward and Extension Director B.J. Jarvis.
Marnie Ward was also recognized for an oral presentation, "Touring Florida: Wildlife, Water and Climate" (click here: sites.google.com/ufl.edu/touringflorida/home) and a poster presentation, "4-H@4," an educational program offered on Zoom.com, with different topics each month such as crystal science, hurricane preparedness, and insect collecting, etc.
