Extra drop-off day for hazardous waste at Lecanto landfill, Jan. 9, 9:00 am-1:00 pm

Citrus County's Landfill offers an additional drop-off day on a Saturday, each quarter, for Household Hazardous Waste ("HHW"). The next Saturday HHW drop-off will be held on Sat., Jan. 9, 9;00 am-1:00 pm, in addition to the usual weely HHW drop-off days of Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (same hours), at its location of 230 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy. (SR 44) in Lecanto. 

Citizens are encouraged to use the weekday drop-off days, if possible, to avoid the longer wait times on the quarterly scheduled Saturday drop-offs.

Citrus Couny residents can bring in, at no charge, up to 10 gallons, or 60 pounds, of household hazardous waste for proper disposal at the landfill. For details, please call the landfill at 352-527-7670.
