Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR) is participating in "Keep the Wreath Green," a holiday safety program designed to promote fire safety during the month of December.

The program is designed to reduce the number of uncontrolled fires by increasing awareness of fire hazards and unsafe behaviors.

During the month of December, every time CCFR responds to a residential home structure fire that causes damage, on Christmas wreaths on display at four area fire stations, a green light bulb will be replaced with a red light bulb, to remind citizens of the dangers posed by uncontrolled fires. The wreaths are on display at the following fire stations:
Station 3, located at 8408 W. Homosassa Trail in Homosassa, FL
Station 7, located at 800 N. Rock Crusher Rd. in Crystal River, FL
Station 14, located at 9515 N. Citrus Springs Blvd. in Citrus Springs, FL
Station 20, located at 4785 N. Eldham blvd. in Beverly Hills, FL

In conjunction with the "Keep the Wreath Green" project, CCFR is announcing safety tips via our Facebook and Twitter pages, encouraging everyone to follow the safety tips and have a happy holiday season.

If you have questions regarding fire safety or the "Keep the Wreath Green" program, please contact the Fire Marshal's Office at 352-527-5527.
