LCSO arrests Chiefland/Cedar Key man on child porn/child sex charges
Levy County, Florida - The Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) received a tip that led to the arrest of a Chiefland/Cedar Key man on child sex and child pornography charges.
According to a press release by the LCSO, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported the tip to the agency's Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Unit, that images of young children in sexually explicit poses had been uploaded to the internet. The tip provided critical information that led to the suspect being identified as 27 year-old Christian B. Harrelson. .
Detectives Ryan Sullivan and Justin Douglas learned there was a warrant for Harrelson's arrest, for violation of his probation. On Dec. 13, the detectives located Harrelson, placed him under arrest, and seized his electronic devices. An extensive search of the seized devices located multiple images depicting Harrelson with children, according to the press release.
Harrelson was charged with 10 counts of possession of obscene material depicting children, 2 counts of use of a two-way communication device to transmit child pornography, and 1 count of capital sexual battery of a victim under the age of 12. Harrelson is being held at the Levy County Detention Bureay with his bond set at $6,200,000.
