The Southwest Florida Water Management District (Citrus, Levy, Marion, Hernando, Sumter and Lake counties) will hold a virtual workshop, which the public is welcome to attend, on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 5:30 pm, to discuss updates to the water district’s land use and management rules and processes, via Microsoft Teams, at this link: bit.ly/3eAg6ML; the Google Chrome browser is recommended for best compatibility.

To participate in the workshop by telephone, dial 1-888-585-9008 and enter the conference code ID of 346-054-201 when prompted.

The purpose of this workshop is to update outdated rules and processes governing the use of the water district's lands, to create efficiencies. One of the major changes will be an annual limit on the number of nights a camper can reserve, per year - to provide a more fair opportunity for all users, and to become more consistent with Florida's other water management districts.

The updated land use rules are posted on the water district’s website at WaterMatters.org/LandUseRules, where comments rom the public will be accepted through Dec. 7, 2020.
