Citrus County, Florida - The Home Instead Senior Care Foundation in Lecanto, FL, has partnered with the Lecanto Levi’s 4-H Club, again this year, for its Be a Santa to a Senior program. The program identifies seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season, and the foundation then works with local businesses and retail stores to facilitate the purchase and distribution of gifts by placing trees and ornaments at various locations within Citrus County (see the "tree locations" below).

The gift request of each senior is written on a "Be a Santa to a Senior" note that is shaped like a Christmas bulb. The wish list bulbs are then placed on trees at various locations around Citrus County. Members of the community are encouraged to visit one of the participating locations and look for the "Be a Santa to a Senior" tree on display. The trees will be in the stores through Dec. 11. Each tree will be decorated with ornaments featuring the gift suggestions. Holiday shoppers can choose an ornament, buy the requested gift items and return it, unwrapped, to the store with the ornament attached.

Home Instead, a not for profit organization, will also collect monetary donations that will be used in the same way. Mail your donation to: Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, 4214 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy., Lecanto, FL 34461, or click here to donate online: https://www.beasantatoasenior.com/donate/.  For further details, please contact Home Instead in Lecanto by phone at (352) 249-1257
