UPDATE TO CHRISTMAS PARADES (determined Nov. 24, 2020):
Due to increased hospitalizations of area residents due to the continuing and escalating Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 Crystal River and Inverness Christmas parades will be done in "reserve," meaning that floats and other parade attractions will remain stationary - and the parade attendees will drive by the stationary parade location and enjoy the parade from inside their vehicles.

The parade dates and times will remain the same, but the parade route and manner (changed to a drive-by parade) will change:

Crystal River Christmas (drive-by) Parade
Saturday, December 5, 6:00 pm
Will be held on an interior road of the Crystal River Mall, 1801 Northwest U.S. Highway 19, Crystal River, FL

Inverness Christmas (drive-by) Parade
Saturday, Dec. 12, at 12:00 pm noon
Will be held on Highlands Boulevard, from Montgomery Avenue to Apopka Avenue.

Citrus County Chamber of Commerce

Citrus County, Florida - The Crystal River and Inverness Christmas Parades will both be held in Citrus County this year, hosted by the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce on the first and second Saturdays in December, 2020. The Crystal River Christmas Parade will be held on Sat., Dec. 5 at 6:00 pm, and the Inverness Christmas Parade will be held on Sat.. Dec. 12, at 12:00 pm noon.

This year, the parade will take us back to a simpler time, a time when Christmas was more about homemade gifts and family traditions. Think along the lines of tinsel and popcorn garlands, hand-painted dolls and matchbox cars; participants and viewers will celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with this year's theme, A Vintage Christmas!

In line with CDC Guidelines, the Chamber recommends that parade viewers practice social distancing and use face coverings when social distancing is not possible. Parade participants will be asked to use precautions during the parade staging, and hand washing stations will be available. To reduce physical interaction, handing out or tossing items along the parade route will be strictly prohibited.

If you are feeling ill, please stay home. If you are unable to attend the parade, the Chamber has partnered with Digital Hound Media to provide the opportunity to view the parades in real time - while they are ongoing - via Facebook LiveStream at this link: facebook.com/Citruscountylive
