According to an October 29 press release by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), Dustin Aloysius Brooke, 36, of Inglis, FL, has been arrested on additional charges since his initial arrest on Octover 24.

During his arrest, a locked safe was found inside Brooke's vehicle, a red Ford Focus, that deputies were unable to open at the time. Sargeant Kevin Kinik's K-9 partner, Zombie, alerted to the presence of drugs inside the safe. Detective Tim Rogers obtained a search warrant to open the safe, and inside the safe, discovered LSD, methamphetamines, marijuana, prescription pills packaged for street level sales, and drug paraphernalia, which led to 11 additional charges being filed on Mr. Brooke, who is being held at the Levy Count Detention Facility, with his combined bonds set at $425,000.

Brooke was arrested by Deputy Mark Juen during a traffic stop, Oct. 24, at E. Cason Blvd. and US 19 in Inglis, due to a window tinting violation. Mr. Brooke, the driver, told Deputy Juen that he was enroute to the auto parts store to purchase mineral spirits to get rid of the window tinting. When Deputy Juen learned that Mr. Brooke's license had been suspended, Brooke was placed under arrest.

On Oct. 24, Deputy Juen reported that he located a loaded 0.22-caliber Ruger pistol with a laser sight and an extra magazine, other 0.22-caliber ammunition, a partially smoked marijuana cigarette, "copious amounts of jewelry," and a blue ceramic container that tested positive for methamphetamine residue.

Mr. Brooke, who has 12 previous felony convictions, according to the LCSO, was initially charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, driving while license suspended as an habitual offender, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and possession of drug equipment.
