Pedestrian, 63, killed on SR 44 in Crystal River, FL, Oct. 25

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was killed in Crystal River, FL on Sunday night, October 25, 2020, at 9:06 pm, when he walked into the path of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that was traveling west on State Road 44, approaching the intersection of NE 7th Ave. The pedestrian, a 63 year-old Crystal River man, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The 29 year-old Homosassa woman who drove the SUV carried one passenger, a 31 year-old woman, also of Homosassa. Neiher of the SUV passengers was injured during the crash, and both wore a seatbelt, according to the press release.
