Morriston, FL man, motorcyclist, killed on 3-vehicle incident on US 41 in Levy County

Levy County, Florida - A 53 year-old Morriston, FL man driving a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle incident that occurred on Wed, Oct. 21, at 6:28 am, on U.S. Highway 41, at SE 2nd St., in Williston, FL.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, a 35 year-old Dunnellon man was driving a sedan, traveling north on US Highway 41 behind the motorcycle, which was also traveling north on US Highway 41, slowing to turn left into a driveway, and the sedan struck the rear of motorcycle, which resulted in the motorcyclist being thrown from the motorcycle and into the path of an oncoming tractor/trailer rig that was traveling south on US Highway 41. The tractor/trailer rig then struck the 53 year-old Morriston man, who was pronounced deceased on the scene of the incident. 

The driver of the tractor/trailer was a 28 year of man from Bell, FL, who was not injured in the crash.
 
The Dunnelon man driving the sedan was wearing a seatbelt and susteined minor injuries.
