Spotted seatrout season closes, Central East Zone (Atlantic Ocean), Nov. 1

The Florida Fish and Wildlife conservation Commission (FWC) announced that spotted seatrout will be closed to recreational harvest Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2020 in the Central East Seatrout Management Zone (see the lighter blue color on the East Coast on the Zone Map, above right), which includes all state and federal waters of the Atlantic Ocean, from Palm Beach through Volusia counties. 

Spotted seatrout, as well as red drum and snook, also remain catch-and-release only through May 31, 2021, in waters from the Hernando/Pasco county line south through Gordon Pass in Collier County (see Catch & Release Map, above left).
