Yankeetown, FL man arrested, charged with the Oct. 9 stabbing death of his father

A 25 (almost 26) year-old Yankeetown, FL man, Walter Alexander Dyals, was arrested on Friday night, Oct. 9, 2020, charged with *murder in the stabbing death of his father. Mr. Dyals is being held at the Levy County Jail in Bronson, FL, with his bond set at none, pending his first appearance in court.

According to a press release by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), about 8:39 pm, Friday night, deputies were dispatched to a 35 63rd Street, Yankeetown residence as the result of two 911 calls reporting that a person at that address had been murdered. 

Deputies arrived at the residence and found Mr. Dyals, who immediately confessed to killing his father, whom he lives with at this address. Dyals was immediately taken into custody. 

Detectives learned that the father and son had been involved in a heated argument, earlier in the evening, during which Walter Dyals admitted to stabbing his father in the chest. 

*Mr. Dyals was booked into jail with his Florida Statute listed as 782.04-1a1: murder, the unlawful killing of a human being, when perpetrated from a premeditated design to effect the death of the person killed or any human being.
