We all hope to live a long and healthy life—to see our kids grow older, to welcome and be involved with our grandchildren, to enjoy life and to give back to our community.

But aging successfully takes planning. Research shows that at some point on the aging journey, two-thirds of older adults will need some support to age well at home.

For millions of older adults that support system is the Aging Network—or Area Agencies on Aging, also known as AAAs. Elder Options is the Area Agency on Aging for North Central Florida.

AAAs provide a wide variety of services and programs that assist older adults in staying well, including:

  • Fall prevention and chronic disease self-management training.
  • Social engagement activities.
  • Volunteering opportunities.
  • Help understanding and navigating benefits such as Medicare, Medicaid and veterans’ benefits.
  • Home-delivered meals and meals in group settings.
  • Legal services.
  • Medical transportation support.
  • Training and support for caregivers, including respite.
