Dunnellon, Florida – At 7:02 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR) was dispatched to N. Florida Ave. and W. Biloxi Place in Dunnellon due to reports of a vehicle fire that was threatening a building.
The Engine 14 crew from the Citrus Springs fire station arrived at the location at 7:07 p.m. to find several vehicles fully engulfed in flames at a small parking lot that contained several parked cars. Firefighters deployed hose lines and had water on the fire by 7:09 p.m. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby vehicles and property.
The Engine 5 crew from the Hernando fire station arrived at the location, shortly thereafter, to assist with fire suppression, water supply, and scene control.
The fire was brought under control at 7:15 p.m.
The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to conduct a joint investigation.
Fire crews remained at the location for several hours to ensure that all hot spots were extinguished and also to assist fire investigators. All Citrus County Fire Rescue units cleared the scene by 9:51 p.m.
The fire destroyed three vehicles and damaged several others. No injuries were reported.
