Beverly Hills, Florida - About 10:40 p.m. on Saturday evening, July 19, 2025, deputies and detectives with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence located on North Washington Street in Beverly Hills after a 911 call reported that a male had been shot several times.

According to a preliminary investigation, when the female victim exited the residence, she was confronted by a man, who was later identified by both victims as Elijah Foster. Foster had allegedly pointed a firearm at the female victim and forced entry into the home. Foster then made his way to the rear of the house, where he encountered the male victim and fired numerous rounds, striking the male victim in his neck, an arm, a hand, and his groin. After belong shot, the injured male ran to a nearby residence to seek help.

Elijah Foster was located shortly after the shooting and was taken into custody without incident.

The male victim was airlifted to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition was unknown at the time of the press release.

"This kind of violence has no place in our community," said Citrus County Sheriff David Vincent. "Thanks to the fast actions of our deputies, we were able to identify and apprehend the suspect swiftly. Our agency remains committed to protecting our citizens and ensuring that those who commit violent crimes are held fully accountable."

As a result of the investigation, Elijah Jacob Foster was arrested and booked into the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto, Florida, charged with attempted first degree murder with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (without intent to kill), and home invasion with a firearm. Foster is being held without bond.
