Bronson, Florida - Jeffery Earl Lashley, 65, who was designated as a sexual predator in 2004 as a result of being convicted of several sexual offenses, was arrested July 1, 2025 when he was found to be noncompliant with Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) sexual offender/predator registration requirements.

On June 25, 2025, Levy County Deputy Patrick Lockett learned that Lashley, whose residence is listed as Cedar Key, Florida, had been staying at a property in the Rosewood, Florida area that had not been reported to law enforcement authorities as his residence, which is a legal requirement for sexual predators. Deputy Lockett relayed this information, along with Lashley’s day-to-day activities, to Levy County Sheriff's Office detectives.

Detective Cody Weaver continued the investigation, and on July 1. 2025, he learned that Lashley had committed numerous sexual predator registration violations. Checking the search engine history of Lashley's phone, Detective Weaver discovered searches for “pedophilia” and “little girls in bathing suits,” along with photographs of pre-pubescent girls in bathing suits. As a result, on the same day, Detective Weaver arrested Lashley and charged him with four sexual predator violations:  four counts of failure to report an email addition or internet identifiers to law enforcement authorities. He is being held at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida, with his combined bonds set at $200,000.

"The LCSO takes sexual offender/predator violations seriously, and continually performs compliance reviews on all registered sexual offenders/predators," said Levy County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Scott Tummond. "The LCSO knows that recidivism amongst those convicted of these heinous crimes is extremely high and wants to ensure our public that we will continue to investigate these violations and make arrests."
