Crystal River man, age 19, driving a motorcycle, dies as result of June 26, Ocala crash

Ocala, Florida - A 19 year-old man from Crystal River, Florida, who was operating a motorcycle, died as the result of a traffic crash that occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 in Ocala. The crash occurred on State Road 40 at NW 68th Avenue Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sport utility vehicle (SUV) was traveling north on SW 68th Avenue Road, crossing State Road 40, and failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle that was traveling west within the inside lane of State Road 40, approaching NW 68th Avenue Road. The driver of the motorcycle attempted to avoid a collision by traveling onto the outside lane, but was unsuccessful in his attempt, and the front of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the SUV. The motorcyclist, who died as the result of the crash, was wearing a helmet.

As a result of the impact, debris from the motorcycle struck the left side of a sedan that was stopped at a stop sign on NW 68th Avenue approaching State Road 40. The driver of the sedan was a 45 year-old woman from Ocala, who was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the SUV was a 82 year-old woman from Ocala, whose passenger was an 81 year-old man, also from Ocala. Both were wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.
