Bronson, Florida - A 26 year-old California native, Victor Rivera, suspected of robbing the Bronson Pharmacy in May 2024, was arrested in Alma California on June 20, 2025, as the result of a multi-agency collaboration.
In May of 2024, Levy County Deputy Izabella Luzader responded to the Bronson Pharmacy, located at 150 N. Hathaway Ave. in Bronson, Florida, due to the report of a theft. According to Lt. Scott Tummond with the Levy County Sheriff's Office, a suspicious man - later determined to be Victor Rivera - who had no association with the Bronson Pharmacy, intercepted and accepted a delivery of narcotics on behalf of the pharmacy, then left the pharmacy with the drugs, prior to the arrival of law enforcement personnel at the pharmacy. The narcotics were valued at more than $3,800.
Prior to the report of the pharmacy theft, Deputy Luzader had responded to an unspecified location, due to a report of a suspicious vehicle, where she had identified Rivera. If not for Deputy Luzader's diligence during this call, Rivera may not have been identified in this case, and the pharmacy theft might have remained unsolved.
Levy County Detective Ryan Sullivan assisted agents with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in conducting follow up interviews, analyzing surveillance footage, and accessing electronic data relevant to the case. The investigation led to a warrant being issued for Rivera’s arrest on a charge of grand theft of a controlled substance, with a bond of $100,000 assigned to the warrant. The United States Marshals Service (USMS) assisted in locating and apprehending Rivera.
On June 20, 2025, the Alma City Police Department in California, assisted by the United States Marshals Service, located and arrested Rivera on this outstanding warrant.
It is expected that Rivera will be extradited to the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson in the near future.
As a result of information garnered during this investigation, Victor Rivera is suspected of similar crimes in other cities in the United States. The United States Department of Homeland Security is assisting Levy County Detective Ryan Sullivan in pursuing these additional investigations.
