Brooksville motorcyclist dies in Brooksville crash vs. SUV with Crystal River driver and passenger

Brooksville, Florida - A two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Brooksville, at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, resulted in the death of a 66 year-old man from Brooksville.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Brooksville man was driving a BMW motorcycle, traveling south on Spring Lake Highway,  south of State Road 50, when a Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle (SUV), traveling north on Spring Lake Highway, attempted to turn left into a gas station parking lot and entered into the path of the motorcycle, which resulted in the SUV colliding into the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital, where he later expired from injuries he suffered during the crash. 

The driver of the SUV, a 39 year-old man from Crystal River, Florida, suffered minor injuries, as did his passenger, a 36 year-old woman, also from Crystal River.
