We hear this refrain too often from Helpline callers and class members who find us in the middle of a crisis, whether its facing unexpected caregiving responsibilities, financial strain, or health challenges. That’s why Elder Options, along with Florida’s network of Area Agencies on Aging, is embracing the motto: "Know us before you Need Us."
At Elder Options, our mission is to empower aging individuals and their caregivers by connecting them with vital resources, education, and support. As the designated Area Agency on Aging for North Central Florida, we provide guidance and resources relating to housing, healthcare, financial assistance, and wellness.
A single call to the Elder Helpline links you to a world of community resources that can help you plan ahead — before urgent needs arise. Don’t wait until you need us — get to know us now!

Our First Committee for a Cause event was great! Thank you to the event Sponsors, Pinspiration Gainesville, Parklands Care Center, and Greg Smith and Trish Gleason at Raymond James in Newberry and Winter Park. It was a fun event where we honored National Social Worker Month, played Financial Feud (with buzzers!), and made decorative tiles! The night was good fun, with financial planning information and information about Elder Options. We are so grateful to have community partners invested in the seniors in North Central Florida.
You can support Elder Options, a nonprofit founded in 1977, by making a donation or volunteering to help seniors and disabled adults live with dignity and independence. Your generosity helps provide essential services like housing assistance, food, and personal-use items to those in need.
