According to the LCSO, at 4:55 pm on New Year's Eve, the agency received a 911 call reporting that two brothers were involved in an argument, that Michael Miller had shot his brother, Jeremy Miller, with a 9mm handgun at a residence located in the 13000 bock of NW 88th Ave. in the Manatee Farms subdivision of Chiefland.
When deputies arrived at the residence, a man stepped out of the main house and informed deputies that Jeremy Miller was dead, and Michael Miller was inside a shed on the north side of the property.
After a brief stand off with law enforcement officers - LCSO deputies and a Florida Highway Patrol trooper, Michael Miller surrendered to law enforcement officers. He told law enforcement officers that he didn't want to be handcuffed or go back to jail.
After Miller was taken into custody, the report stated, he threatened to swallow something that was in his mouth that would kill him. The officer found nothing in Miller's mouth. and Miller admitted he'd lied. The report also stated, that while the officers were walking Miller to the patrol vehicle, one of the officers took the walking from miller that he was holding, and Miller then bit down on the officer's finger with such force, the officer could not pull his finger away, and it required three closed-hand strikes to Miller's torso to force Miller to release the officer's finger. Miller was then placed inside the patrol vehicle.
Prior to questioning, Miller was searched. Deputies located 3 clonazepam tablets, a controlled substance used as a sedative, hidden inside a plastic cylinder tube in Miller's sock.
