Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle on US 19 in Crystal River, Florida

Crystal River (Citrus County), Florida - A  pedestrian - walking  for unknown reasons in the outside, southbound lane of U.S. Highway 19 in Crystal River - died as the result of being struck by a vehicle  on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 6:20 pm. The pedestrian was a 50 year-old man from Arkansas. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 24 year-old man from Ocala Florida, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 19, when it overtook and struck the pedestrian near North Champion Point. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
