Woman killed and man critically injured in Hernando, Florida  ATV / motor bike crash

Hernando (Citrus County), Florida - A crash between an all-terran vehicle (ATV) and a motor bike that occurred in Hernando at 1:17 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, resulted in serious injuries to the operator of the ATV and fatal injuries to the ATV passenger. The motor bike operator was not injured. All three people involved in the crash were residents of Bellview, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the ATV, operated by a 35 year-old man, was traveling south on North Pine Drive, while a motor bike, driven by a 16 year-old male, was traveling north on North Pine Drive.  As the two vehicles approached each other near East Kathy Road, the ATV driver took evasive action to avoid a collision, which resulted in the ATV traveling off the roadway, ejecting the driver, as well as his passenger, a 38 year-old woman.  Both ATV passengers were struck by the motor bike. which resulted in life-threatening injuries to the operator, and fatal injuries to the passenger.
