UPDATED: Debra Blair, 67, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 19, 2024, charged with battery, and battery of a law enforcement officer ($10,000 bond). The arrest report stated that a deputy was dispatched to an Inglis residence in response to the report of a domestic battery. The deputy arrived at the home to find the victim inside a front screened porch, and the front door with a bent door spring, which prevented it from closing properly. Ms. Blair was standing inside the front door threshold, yelling to the deputy, "You better shoot me." As the deputy came closer to Blair, according to the report, she punched the deputy in the middle of his vest with her right hand closed into a fist. The deputy grabbed her right wrist and placed her into handcuffs. While the deputy was escorting Blair to the patrol vehicle, she dropped to the ground, forcing the deputy to his hands and knees to avoid falling onto Ms. Blair. The deputy finished assisting her to the patrol vehicle then spoke with the victim. The victim told the deputy that Blair had struck his back, and he had then escaped from her attack, that he was glad she'd missed him with the wrench she'd thrown at him. He said this was not the first time Blair had struck him while she was intoxicated.

UPDATED: Kenneth Allen Kittle, 64, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 20, 2024, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with damage to property ($15,000 bond). According to the arrest report, a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle (ATV) had crashed into a parked vehicle in the area of SE 201 St. in Inglis, causing about $2,000 in damages. The report stated that the suspected driver, Kittle, had walked away from the crash but had returned, clearly intoxicated. Kittle submitted to roadside sobriety testing and performed poorly. He was taken into custody at 9:58 pm and transported to the Levy County Detention Facility. After 20 minutes of observation, he submitted to breath alcohol testing, with results of 0.168 and 0.162 (the legal limit is 0.08). The report stated that Kittle told the deputy that he'd consumed 3 to 4 drinks of wine and alcohol since 8:00 pm, but denied that he'd driven the ATV involved in the crash, which had a female relative as a passenger. A witness on scene told the deputy that Kittle had been driving the ATV.
