Three suspects arrested in Dec. 19, Homosassa home invasion murder incident

Citrus County, Florida - On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) received a call reporting that a man had been shot at a residence located on South Scarlet Oak Terrace in Homosassa, Florida. First responders transported the shooting victim - 44 year-old Aaron Michael Kyle -
to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The 911 caller provided a description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle. Deputies arrived at the home to find that several suspects and additional parties were involved in the incident.
Citrus County Sheriff's Office detectives, crime scene specialists, and Tactical Impact Unit (TIU) members were actively involved in this investigation.
The first suspect was identified as 34 year-old Shawn Michael Hutton, also known as "Bam," a convicted felon. Within 24 hours of the shooting, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Hutton and also located the vehicle used by the suspects during the shooting incident that occurred during a home invasion robbery. Detectives also established probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the second suspect, 34 year-old Andrew Douglas Gore.
"This case has presented significant challenges," said Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast. "Our detectives have worked tirelessly on this case, and it was crucial to maintain the integrity of the investigation by withholding certain details. This careful approach ultimately ensured the immediate arrest of the two suspects involved, demonstrating our commitment to a thorough investigation."
"I know the public is curious about this incident, and I appreciate everyone's patience," said Criminal Investigations Captain Novy. "Our goal is to create the strongest case possible, providing justice for the victim's family."
Within 24 hours, 34 year-old Shawn Michael Hutton was arrested, and a short time later, 34 year-old Andrew Douglas Gore was arrested. On January 2, 2025, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office announced that 28 year-old Jason Kyle Kirchaine had also been arrested. Each was charged with murder while engaged in a home invasion robbery, home invasion robbery with a firearm or other deadly weapon, and kidnapping with intent to commit a felony.

Homosassa, Florida - According to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, a shooting took place on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 19, 2024, at a residence located on S. Scarlet Oak Terrace in Homosassa.
A statement released by the agency on Dec. 19 stated, "Due to the complex nature of this event, releasing any additional information too early can jeopardize this investigation, either through the destruction of potential evidence or flight of those involved. Our goal is to release factual information as it comes available."
The agency updated the public, on Dec. 20, that Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division detectives had concluded their invesigation at the residence where the inciden occurred, and are following up on leads and tracking down all parties involved in the shooting incident, that detecives are reviewing evidence, attempting to identify all parties involved in the incident, and piecing together events that led up to the shooting incident.
