Zachary Eli Jock, 29, of Homosassa, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), October 30, 2024, charged with driving while license suspended, first offense; resisting or obstructing an officer without violence, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription ($11,000 bond).
       According to the arrest report, at 11:00 pm, a deputy observed a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck, driven by Mr. Jock, fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 40 West and Hammock Road in Inglis, FL. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle on County Road 40 West, in the area of the Capital City Bank. However, the vehicle continued to drive, eventually traveling west onto County Road 40 A. The deputy sounded the patrol vehicle's air horn in an effort to gain the compliance of the driver, yet the vehicle continued to travel away from the deputy. Jock eventually pulled over in the parking lot of the Circle K gas station, located at the intersection of County Road 40 West and U.S. Highway 19 in Inglis.
       The report stated that Jock told the deputy, who was by then assisted by a second deputy and a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper, that he did not have his license with him. Jock provided his date of birth, omitting the year, even after several requests for him to state his birth year. He also refused to exit the vehicle, after several requests, and when the deputy attempted to open the vehicle's door, Jock pinned the door closed with his left arm, causing the deputy to place him into a wrist lock, so the deputy could open the door. The deputy opened the door and attempted to pull Jock from the truck, with the assistance of the other officers, yet Jock continued to resist exiting the truck, placing his right arm through the steering wheel. When the second deputy went to the other side of the vehicle and threatened to use his taser (electronic stun weapon) if he would not exit the vehicle, Jock finally complied with the officers and was taken into custody.
       During a search of his person when he was being booked into the Levy County Detention Facility, Jock was found to be in possession of 0.3 gram of methamphetamine. Deputies also learned that Jock's driver's license had been withdrawn in the State of Pennsylvania on Dec. 22, 2021.
