Man dies in single car crash on CR 491 in Lecanto

Lecanto (Citrus County), Florida - A 41 year-old man from Homosassa died as the result of a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 2:08 am, early Saturday morning, October 19, 2024.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Chevy Corvette sports car, traveling south on County Road 491 in Lecanto, when north of West Fennessy Lane, he lost control of the vehicle, which departed from the roadway and collided with a tree. Upon impact, the vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected.  

The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
