LCSO seeking witesses to two shootings in east Williston, FL on Fri. & Sat, Sept. 11 & 12; car shot, but driver escaped injury

Levy County, Florida -  On Saturday, Sep. 12, 2020 the Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) 9-1-1 Center received multiple reports of gunfire, just east of Williston, FL in the area of the Mack Apartments, located at 21431 NE 35th Street. 

Deputies met with a 28 year old male near this address who told them that he went to the Mack Apartments to visit with a family member when several people, whom he was unable to identify, came out of a nearby wooded area and began shooting at him. 

Deputies photographed multiple bullet holes to the exterior and interior of the victim’s vehicle and recovered three different calibers of shell casings, which appeared to have been recently fired from handguns in the area where the driver said he was parked. 

No witnesses were located who could identify the gunmen, although numerous residents reported they'd heard the gunfire. 

According to a press release, the previous night, on Friday Sept. 11, deputies responded to anoher location within a mile of the Mack Apartments due to numerous calls reporting gunfire. In the Friday night shooting, deputies did not locate victims or witnesses, only numerous residents who reported hearing a volley of gunfire.

The LCSO is hoping to locate someone who has knowledge of either of these shooting. If you have information regardng these crimes, please contact the LCSO.
