Levy County, Florida court actions with notable sentences

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office saw two cases resolved during the past week, with substantial sentences levied against each of the defendants.

On Saturday, February 20, 2021, 25 year-old Fredrick ("Freddie G") Donnell Williams, now 29 years-old of Tampa, Florida and formerly of Williston, Florida, got into an argument with 18 year-old Khajon Lamont Spikes, at the Marathon gas station, located at 20551 NE Highway 27, at County Road 318, in Williston, Florida, during which Williams pulled a gun and shot Spikes, once, in his chest, resulting in his death.

Since his arrest on February 23, 2021, Williams has been held in custody at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida.

Williams’s case came to conclusion on August 21, 2024 in the 8th Judicial Circuit Court of Levy County when he was sentenced to serve 25 years in the Florida Department of Corrections as the result of being found guilty of first degree murder. He will remain on probation for 5 years following his release.

On November 8, 2023, John Lewis of Williston, Florida, now 46 years-old, was arrested on a charge of sexual battery. Since that time, he's been held in custody at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida.

On July 24, 2024, Lewis was convicted of sexual battery by a jury of his peers in Levy County, Florida.

Lewis was sentenced to serve 20 years in the Florida Department of Corrections. Upon his release, Lewis will be monitored on a special condition sex offender probation for an additional 10 years.
