Wanted Williston man located and arrested after running from deputies
Levy County Sheriff’s Office
On August 8, 2024, detectives and deputies with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) located and arrested 38 year-old Tyree Brown of Williston, Florida, who had active warrants for his arrest.
According to the LCSO, Brown has an extensive criminal history that includes 76 previous felony charges. The current arrest warrants stemmed from a long term narcotics investigation conducted by the Levy County Drug Task Force earlier this year. Since that time Mr. Brown had been on the run for the following charges:
• sale and manufacture of illegal narcotics
• possession of cocaine with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a place of worship
• trafficking in cocaine
• possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
• possession of marijuana
• keeping or maintaining a nuisance structure for drug activity
When Brown encountered the deputies, he ran from them, but was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Due to running from deputies, Brown was additionally charged with resisting arrest without violence.
Brown’s total bond was set at $106,000. He posted bond on August 9, 2024 and was released from custody.
