Citrus County Detention Facility, Lecanto, Florida

Ramona Isabel Ayala (no photo available), 40, of Milton, FL, was issued a notice to appear in court citation at 3:11 pm, Sept. 9, charged with retail petit theft. The report stated that Ms. Ayala purchased 3 items in the amount of $7.28 at the Lecanto Walmart store, but when she left the store, an antitheft alarm sounded, and store employees learned that she had 11 items in her shopping bag, 8 of which had not been paid for that had a combined value of $66.93. Ms. Ayala was released on her own recognizance.

Brittany Noel Bragg, 35, of New Port Richey, FL, was arrested during a traffic stop at the intersection of W. Grover Cleveland Blvd. and S. Suncoast Blvd. (US 19) in Homosassa, FL, Sept. 9 at 11:04 pm, on a Pinellas County, FL warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of possession of a controlled substance and trespassing ($50,530 bond).

Kenneth Deon Brooks, 41, of Lecanto, FL, was arrested at the Inverness Walmart store, Sept. 9 at 11:55 am, charged with retail petit theft of more than $100, but less than $750; and possession of a controlled substance ($3,000 bond). He was also arrested on a Citrus County warrant for failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of driving while license suspended, second offense ($1,005 cash only bond).

Frank Di Chiara, 78, of Inverness, FL, was arrested at his residence, Sept. 8 at 6:19 am, on a Citrus County, FL warrant for battery ($1,000 bond).

Michael Scott Lasher, 57, of Homosassa, FL, was arrested, Sept. 8 at 8:38 pm, charged with domestic battery (no bond).

James Cody Reed, 37, of Homosassa, FL, was arrested, Sept. 8 at 4:33 pm, charged with driving while license suspended or revoked as an habitual traffic offender, operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement, and fleeing from a law enforcement officer in pursuit with sirens and lights activated with disregard for safety ($7,500 bond).

Charlene Dawn Roberts, 37, of Homosassa, FL, was arrested, Sept. 8 at 8:40 am, on a warrant for battery ($1,000 bond).

Melanie Anne Thomas, 47, of Inverness, FL, was arrested, Sept. 8 at 9:55 pm, charged with driving under the influence, battery of a law enforcement officer, driving under the influence with serious bodily injury, and driving under the influence with property damage ($27,000 bond). Ms. Thomas was involved in a two-vehicle traffic crash at NE 5th St. (SR 44) and NE 12th Ave. in Crystal River, FL. According to the report, she spat on a deputy's face, threatened numerous people, and refused to submit to breath alcohol testing.
