Inverness woman charged with murdering her roommate, Andrea K. Day, 72

Inverness, Citrus County, Florida - On Saturday night July 20, 2024, Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) Major Crimes detectives arrested 61-year-old Tracy Lee Stanley, of Inverness, who was charged with second degree murder of her roommate.
Deputies were dispatched to 6033 East Rector Street, in Inverness, after the CCSO Communications Center received a call reporting that a deceased person had been located.
Inside the home, deputies found the victim, 72-year-old Andrea Kathleen Day, deceased and wrapped in a tarp.
Stanley was booked into the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto, Florida where she is being held without bond.
"My sincerest condolences go out to the family of Andrea Day as they begin the long process of healing," said Sheriff Prendergast. "This was a senseless act of violence. Thank you to our deputies and detectives, who worked swiftly and diligently to take this suspect into custody."
As the investigation is active and ongoing, no further information is available at this time.
