Four emaciated horses removed from Williston property

July 19, 2024 - A Levy County Sheriff's Office press release stated, that due to a report of neglected animals, deputies with the Levy County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 13890 NE 70 Street in Williston, Florida. Deputies arrived at the location to find four malnourished horses, three mares and a colt, in need of immediate attention. 

The LCSO Agriculture Detective responded to assist in the investigation and seized the four horses. These animals were transported to a local rescue organization for further evaluation and treatment.

Other animals that remained on the property are being evaluated and could potentially be removed from the owner’s care. The owner was given an order to provide care to the remaining animals as the investigation continues. Charges are expected to be filed once the investigation is concluded.
