During the incident, a rock struck the back of the victim's right arm, leaving a one-inch-long cut that was actively bleeding, according to the arrest report. The report also stated, that on September 18, 2029, Glidewell was found guilty of battery of a law enforcement officer and battery, a second or subsequent offense.

Several people told a deputy that Wilson had made negative comments to children during the day, and later in the evening, he and another person had gotten into a discussion about this, during which Wilson pulled out a small knife or shears, frightening the victim, who pushed him away. The victim and witness went outside the residence and called 911, according to the report.
