A drive-thru free food distribution will be held at the Amvets Post 447 at 405 County Road 40, in Inglis on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Cars will line up north from the Sapp St. entrance and food will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis. Learn more at FARMSHARE.org.

The members of Inglis Amvets (American Veterans) Post 447 are active duty and honorably discharged veterans from all branches of service who live their mission of assisting veterans in all aspects of their lives, from fighting for full benefits to finding suitable employment.

They have also recognized the need to acquire and organize charitable donations of food and hygiene supplies from qualified volunteer organizations in Levy County to help the needy in coastal Levy county. One of those organizations is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints whose donation was received in the last few weeks. Farm Share is the current principle distributor of food to Amvets Post 447. Their last two (2) monthly distributions resulted in over 700 families receiving boxes of supplies each month.

Partnerships such as those between Amvets, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Farm Share are important to help families become more self-sufficient.
