Levy County Sheriff's Office
Williston, Florida - During the evening of Monday, June 17, 2024, Levy County Sheriff's Office Deputy Landon Kennedy was on patrol in the Williston area, when he ran the tag number of a gold car that caught his attention. The tag was not registered to the gold car, so the deputy conducted a traffic stop on it.
The driver - 38 year-old Augustino Jazikoff of Williston - pulled into the Marathon gas station located at W. Highway 318. When Deputy Kennedy spoke with the driver, he saw what appeared to be a black handgun on the center console and a shotgun on the driver’s floorboard. He asked Mr.Jazikoff to step out of the vehicle, and when he exited it, a glass smoking pipe rolled out from under his leg, and his pants pocket was wrong side out. He detained Jazikoff as he continued his investigation.
The passenger, identified as 29 year-old Laura Pendlebury of Williston, a convicted felon, was also asked to step out of the vehicle. A bag containing personal identification of Ms. Pendlebury also contained shotgun shells.
Deputy Kennedy learned that Jazikoff's driver's license was suspended, and that he is a multi-time convicted felon. From within the vehicle, Deputy Kennedy found methamphetamine under the driver’s seat. He also found a short barrel shotgun and multiple 12-gauge slugs. What had initially appeared to be a handgun was identified as a lighter.
Jazikoff and Pendlebury were both placed under arrest and transported to the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida where they were incarcerated.
While being searched by staff members at the jail, Pendlebury was found to be in possession of a bag of cocaine she had hidden on her person. She was charged with possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine. Her bond was set at $35,000.
Jazikoff was charged with possession of a short barrel shotgun, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug equipment and driving while license suspended. His bond was set at $164,000.
