Homosassa, Florida - At 11:57 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024, a 36 year-old man from Homosassa lost his life when he was struck by a vehicle as he crossed a roadway in Homosassa. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by a 75-year-old man from Lecanto, Florida, was traveling eastbound on West Homosassa Trail (County Road 490), approaching South Lantana Way, when the Homosassa man entered his path, walking a Lectric e-Bike across the highway. The pedestrian was struck by the pickup truck and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
