Inverness, FL man dies in head-on crash in Floral City, FL

Citrus County, Florida - A 56 year-old man from Inverness, Florida died as the result of a head-on vehicle collision that occurred at 1:45 pm, Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2024, in Floral City, Florida. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by a 20 year-old man from Weeki Wachee, Florida, was traveling east on County Road 480 (West Stage Coach Trail).  

The Inverness man was driving a Toyota Tundra pickup truck, traveling west on County Road 480 (West Stage Coach Trail).  

West of South Meredith Avenue in Floral City, the Dodge Ram pickup truck crossed the center line of the roadway, for unknown reasons, and collided nearly head-on with the Inverness man's Toyata Tundra pickup truck.  

After the impact, both vehicles rotated. The Dodge Ram came to rest in the westbound lane of the roadway, and the Toyota Tundra came to rest on the northern grass shoulder.

The Inverness man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. He carried no passengers.

The driver of the Dodge Ram carried two passengers, a 27 year-old man from Spring Hill, Florida, and a 19 year-old man from Cocoa, Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol press release made no mention of injuries to the three occupants of the Dodge Ram.
