Inglis, FL man riding bicycle, struck/killed by car in Cross City, FL

Dixie County, Florida - A 47 year-old man from Inglis, Florida died as the result of being struck by a pickup truck while he was peddling a bicycle in Cross City, Florida at 5:50 am on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Inglis man was pedalcycling, traveling north on Highway 351, south of Northeast 326th Avenue, on the right paved shoulder, when he was struck by a pickup truck that was traveling in the same direction.
 
The Inglis man, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 62 year-old man from Cross City, was not injured in the crash. It is unknnown if he was wearing a seatbelt, according to a FHP press release.
