Woman's body found in Georgia believed to be missing Homosassa woman, Colleen Pool

According to Grice Connect news in Statesboro, Georgia, a body discovered in Georgia on Wednesday night, May 15, 2024, is believed to be Colleen Paulissen Pool, 49, of Homosassa, Florida, a woman who was reported as missing to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office on February 10, 2024, and officially listed as a missing person on February 20, 2024. Deputies in multiple states have been searching for Ms. Pool.

The female body was found in in an abandoned home in a wooded area, off Big Pine Road, just off Highway 25 in Garfield, Georgia in eastern Jenkins County - about a mile from the Bullock County line and near the location where Ms. Poole's car, a grey Honda Civic bearing Florida tag number JCNJ88, was found abandoned on Easter Sunday, May 5, 2024. 

Grice Connect reported, that according to Jenkins County Coroner Henry Young, the woman's body has been transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) Crime Lab in Atlanta for positive identification, and Ms. Pool's family has been notified of this development.

It was believed that Ms. Pool was possibly en route to Illinois or another midwestern state. Her vehicle last hit tag readers in Baker County, Florida, traveling in a northbound direction
