Bronson, Florida - At 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning, April 29, 2024, a Bronson family awakened to the sound of breaking glass in their home, located on NE 110th Street. The husband armed himself and went outside to investigate what had happened, while his wife reviewed their home's surveillance. To the woman's horror, she saw a man on their porch and immediately called 911.

Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) deputies quickly arrived and found the armed homeowner outside the residence, only the deputy did not know the armed man was the homeowner, and after a tense few moments, the homeowner lowered his gun, which he was pointing at the intruder - unknown to the deputy. The intruder escaped from the area.

Deputies determined that the intruder fired a handgun through the sliding glass door, shattering it, and the bullet lodged had into the backrest of their couch.

The homeowners took to social media, posting pictures of the suspect captured by their surveillance camera. At 7:30 that morning, the homeowners were contacted by a person who identified the suspect as 29 year-old Fransisco Calvillo, of Bronson, formerly of Archer, Florida. They immediately contacted the LCSO with this information.

Deputies responded to Calvillo's home and took him into custody. Additional evidence was collected and interviews confirmed that Calvillo was the person who had fled from the homeowner earlier that morning.

Calvillo was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, armed trespassing and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond had not been assigned at the time of the press release.
