Thomas Butner, 53, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, April 24, 2024, charged with obstruction of justice by tampering in a first degree felony proceeding ($100,000 bond). According to the arrest document, Butner was extradited from Jackson County, Missouri and arrested on the Levy County warrant.

UPDATED: Kristine Lynn Hess, 40, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), April 23, 2024, charged with unarmed burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, and grand theft of $300 or more but less than $5,000 ($30,000 bond).
       The arrest report stated that a burglary was reported on April 4, 2024, that the victim stated had occurred on April 1, 2024. Items reported stolen included a Stihl 180c chainsaw valued at $400, a Poulan chainsaw valued at $50, a 3-wheel bicycle valued at $700, and a 2-wheel electric bicycle valued at $500. A witness had seen a woman riding a bicycle at the location, and based on the description by the witness, the victim suspected the woman may be Ms. Hess.
       The victim told the deputy that he'd traveled to Hess's residence and had seen his 3-wheel bicycle - which he did not ask her to return, at that time - and that Hess admitted she'd taken a chainsaw and told him she'd return it to him on April 3.
       The victim told the deputy, that when Hess did not return the chainsaw as she'd allegedly promised, he'd contacted the LCSO (on April 4) to assist him in obtaining his property. The victim told the deputy that he'd arrived home on April 4, to find his door unlocked and open, which he said was the thief's point of entry, and the glass on the door broken. The deputy saw the broken window, but no glass on the floor.
       The deputy spoke with Hess at her residence. She admitted she'd taken the 3-wheel bicycle and the Poulan chainsaw, which she handed to the deputy (it was missing pieces, according to the arrest report), but she said she knew nothing about the 2-wheel bicycle or the Stihl chainsaw.

Joshua Lamonte Monroe, 27, of Williston, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), April 27, 2024, charged with resisting or obstructing an officer without violence, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver; possession of a controlled substance without a prescription; and destroying, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence ($100,000 bond).
According to the LCSO, Monroe was a passenger inside a vehicle traveling 47 mph in a posted 25 mph speed zone on NE 35 St. in Williston. When deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Toad Stool Package and Lounge, located at 21031 NE U.S. Hwy. 27. The driver fled into the woods, while Monroe walked into the bar and placed a white package into a garbage can.
  An employee found this suspicious and contacted the Williston Police Department (WPD). A WPD officer arrived at the bar and retrieved the package, which contained cocaine and methamphetamine.
Inside the suspects' vehicle in the parking lot, deputies found a backpack on the passenger seat that contained Monroe’s driver’s license and additional drugs, including fentanyl. Under the driver’s seat, deputies located a FN 5.7x8 mm handgun, loaded with armor piercing bullets, which can penetrate the body armor worn by law enforcement officers.
