Inverness man killed, Groveland man seriously injured, in head-on morning crash near Bushnell, FL

Sumter County, Florida - A 32 year-old Inverness man was killed in a crash that occurred at 7:34 am on Monday morning, April 29, 2024, near Bushnell, Florida in Sumter County.

The Inverness resident was driving a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle (SUV), traveling east on County Road 476. For unknown reasons, west of Southwest 52nd Street, the SUV traveled into the westbound lane and collided nearly head-on with a Nissan pickup truck, driven by a 37 year-old man from Groveland, Florida, that was traveling west (in the opposite direction) on County Road 476.  

The Inverness driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the Groveland driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
