Williston man arrested on search warrant will face organized fraud charges in Polk County

On Friday, April 19, 2024, 42 year-old Tavaries D. Norris of Williston, Florida was arrested at his home by detectives and deputies with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Criminal Investigations Division and Tactical Response Unit, working in cooperation with the Polk County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest was the result of a Levy County search warrant and a Polk County arrest warrant.

Norris was wanted by Polk County detectives on a warrant charging him with organized scheme to defraud. Norris and two other men are said to have defrauded victims out of more than $20,000 in high end merchandise. 

Norris was located at his home and detained while his home and property was searched. The search resulted in the recovery of three firearms, ammunition, a stolen 2024 Polaris four wheeler and a stolen flatbed semi-trailer. 

Norris, a convicted felon who is currently on federal probation, was charged by Levy County with four counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon. He is currently in custody at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson with his bond set at $500,000, and will later be transported to Polk County on the charges pending against him there.
