Citrus County Sheriffs Office, Citrus County, Florida

On August 28, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office was presented with a donation and plaque from the North American Rottweiler Club (NARC) by Ann Glynn, a NARC member who visited the agency with NARC Rottweiler mascot, Lara, due to the agency rescuing 11 year-old gentle giant Rottweiler Buck, July 30, after he tumbled down a 60 to 70-foot deep embankment, during a walk with his master off Tram Road in Hernando, FL, and was unable to lift himself up to free himself, due to arthritis in his hips. Animal Control Officer Terry Funderburk, Animal Control Volunteer Don Eddy, and firefighters with Citrus County Fire Rescue carefully placed Buck onto a stretcher and hauled him to safety. Buck is still faring well, a month after his big adventure!
